This qualification is suitable for those who work within the children and young people’s workforce in a variety of settings, including crèches & nurseries, residential care settings, youth clubs, playgroups, pre-schools and schools providing care to children aged from 0- 19.
Choose your study route depending on your interest or job role including working with children with disabilities and special educational needs, and nursery assistant.
Level 2 will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and professional skills used within the children and young people’s workforce. This qualification confirms competence under supervision in these areas and is an excellent pathway to the Level 3 qualification.
Level 2 is for staff working in an assistant role under supervision. The qualification is flexible in structure enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role. This course, as are all NVQs, is assessor based; meaning your work is marked against The National Occupational Standards. These standards define the competencies, knowledge and understanding needed in a given occupation, and identifies outcomes that can be assessed by your assigned assessor.
