ASDAN Peer Mentoring Course

• Module 1 ~ Training. Take part in a Peer Mentoring training programme. Keep a diary. Give a presentation. Help to set up a web forum on Peer Mentoring, which allows a range of issues to be discussed
(2 credits, 20 hours)

• Module 2 ~ Practice. Become part of the Peer Mentoring team. Keep a personal record of your involvement over a number of weeks. Review this at the end.
(2 credits, 20 hours)

• Module 3 ~ Review. Discuss with your Peer Mentoring leader ideas for improvement. Produce a document called, for example, ‘Peer Mentoring: the way forward’ or another title of your choice.
(1 credit, 10 hours)

• Module 4 ~ Leadership. As part of a group, take your Peer Mentoring training scheme into another centre and present it to the students there.
(1 credit, 10 hours)


Students must present a portfolio of evidence of their Peer Mentoring activities. This portfolio will contain:
• Completed Peer Mentoring Course book and evidence of challenges completed

• Planning progress

• Summary of achievement, identifying skills development

• Personal statement

• Reviewing documents

Our Peer Mentoring is for young people of all abilities in a variety of learning situations.

The flexibility of ASDAN’s Peer Mentoring Course means that they can be carried out in a variety of settings, over a time period to suit the individual or co-ordinating centre. Challenge descriptions can be interpreted and adapted according to situation.
